It's impossible to get bored on Bere Island.

There are many possibilities to fish:

You can enjoy a few pints at Dessie's, or have a great meal at "Kittie's" or in the new "Outlook"at the westside!

There are good walking trails for shorter and longer distances. The longest walk takes you around the island. You pass the lighthouse and remnants of English naval forts.

The shorter walks go through the villages and pastures.

You can of course simply enjoy the views and take pictures. 

There's also an attractive golfcourse - 9 holes, the old course from the British military - near Castletownbere on the mainland.

There's plenty of history on Bere Island too: Martello towers, stone rings, the English naval base fortifications.
