Welcome to 'The American House'

The American House (named after an earlier owner who moved back from the USA to his native Ireland) is a privately owned holiday home on Bere Island in Co. Cork, Ireland. It can be rented from the owner.

The house is located near the village of Rerrin (which has its own shop, post office, pub, marina, ferry and hostel), an easy walk of about ten minutes.

The house (renovated by David Andrews of Greenane, Bere Island)  is easily accessible by car from the main road and has a private parking area. The house combines old Irish cottage features, such as a fireplace, with full modern comfort. The house also has a sundeck with a nice view south.

The location of the house, on the road between the ferry-pier opposite Castletownbere and the village of Rerrin combines tranquility and accessibility.

The house has been fenced around, which makes it child friendly. The caretaker lives close by which makes arrival and departure easy.
